GENERAL INFORMATION

This tour is the best option to visit the “Lost City of the Incas” which is a masterpiece of Inca Architecture, surrounded by lush vegetation. This archeological Sanctuary is located in an area of about 5 km2 situated on the mountains of Cusco’s Jungle. The purpose of the citadel was to serve as a military, religious and administrative location following the Inca´s architectural blueprint; many agricultural terraces, irrigation systems, local plants, aqueducts for the citadel’s water supply. There are around 200 hundred buildings that serve as housing, squares, temples, storage and astronomical observatories.

ITINERARY

What will you do?

  • Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the town of Ollantaytambo, from this town, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes.
  • Once we arrive to Aguas Calientes, the bus will take you to the sanctuary of Machupicchu.
  • Guided visit in a group to all the important sites in Machu Picchu with enough time to take pictures.
  • We take the bus and return to the town of Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch (Lunch is not included).
  • The passengers will take the train from Aguas Calientes back to the town of Ollantaytambo.
  • Pick up from the Ollantaytambo train station in a touristic bus and return to the city of Cusco.

Lima – Capital city of Peru.

Lima is located on the central coast of the country. The city is on the shores of the pacific ocean and has an estimated 8, 5 million inhabitants. On January the 18th 1535, the city was founded and was given the name of ”King´s city”. Nowadays, the city is the political, financial, and cultural center of the country. Lima is the third most populous city in Hispanic America and also ranks fifth in the most populous cities in South America.

Cusco – Capital city of the Inca Empire.

Cusco o “Qosqo” which in Quechua means ”Navel of the world”, is a city located in the southeast part of the country and also situated in the eastern part of the Andes mountain chain. Cusco is known as the ”Historic capital of the country”. This is because it was the capital of the Inca Empire. The city boasts several churches, palaces, and squares in baroque and neoclassical styles. All these attractions make Cusco the main touristic attraction in Peru. UNESCO has declared Cusco as a ”World Heritage Site” in 1983.
