GENERAL INFORMATION

Rafting in Cusco is a tour that takes place in the Sacred Valley in Cusco. This Valley is located in the eastern slope of the Andes Mountains. Rafting take place specifically in the Vilcanota River, this River was considered sacred by the Incas, they named it “Wilcamayu”. The river’s origins are in the higher altitudes of the mountain range and makes its way by the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo and Machupicchu. This river is the most ideal to do rafting in Cusco. The ideal times for rafting are December thru May since the volume of the river is the highest in these months and you can do rafting on level II, III and sometimes even IV. Rafting in Cusco is a unique and unforgettable experience, Not only will you enjoy the amazing landscapes but you will feel these magic energy of having this experience in the Sacred Vally of the Incas

ITINERARY

What will you do?

  • Passenger pickup and transfer with the bus to the town of “Quiquijana” which will be the starting point of our adventure.
  • The guide will first give us a briefing on the tour, after the briefing, we will get the rafting gear. We will have a small practice before we enter the river for rafting.
  • Once we start rafting, we begin a descent downstream for about 2 and ½ hours.
  • Once we finish the route, we will have time to change clothes and right after that, we will have lunch at the shores of the river.
  • We will take our tourist bus and return back to the city of Cusco in the afternoon.

Make your reservation in advance and thus we will obtain the best train schedules

Lima – Capital city of Peru.

Lima is located on the central coast of the country. The city is on the shores of the pacific ocean and has an estimated 8, 5 million inhabitants. On January the 18th 1535, the city was founded and was given the name of ”King´s city”. Nowadays, the city is the political, financial, and cultural center of the country. Lima is the third most populous city in Hispanic America and also ranks fifth in the most populous cities in South America.

Cusco – Capital city of the Inca Empire.

Cusco o “Qosqo” which in Quechua means ”Navel of the world”, is a city located in the southeast part of the country and also situated in the eastern part of the Andes mountain chain. Cusco is known as the ”Historic capital of the country”. This is because it was the capital of the Inca Empire. The city boasts several churches, palaces, and squares in baroque and neoclassical styles. All these attractions make Cusco the main touristic attraction in Peru. UNESCO has declared Cusco as a ”World Heritage Site” in 1983.
