GENERAL INFORMATION

This is an amazing touristic circuit which goes along the Andes mountains and at around 164 kms away from the city of Cusco. Here we find a fusion of the natural and cultural aspects of this region. We visit the four lakes: Pampamarca, Asnacocha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi which are great examples of the amazing natural beauty and the rich local flora and fauna. In this route, we will also find the Ccarañahui caves, these caves are filled with an incredible amount of Stalactites and stalagmites formed in thousands of years. As we continue our walk in the caves, we will run into a mysterious subterranean Lake. Also in this tour, we will visit the famous Queshuachaca Bridge, which is the last example of the amazing Inca engineering and architecture skills. Around 1000 locals will gather each year in order to replace the structure of the bridge which constitutes mainly of hand woven ropes.

ITINERARY

QUE HARAS?

  • Passenger pickup and transfer to the bus to start our tour.
  • Our first stop is Cusipata, where we will have breakfast.
  • After breakfast, we will continue our trip to the 4 lakes, we arrive first to the Pomacanchi Lake, next are Acopia Lake, Asnacocha, and the last is Lake Pampamarca. In each stop, we will have enough time to enjoy the views and take many pictures.
  • Next, we will arrive to the “Queshuachaca Briddge”. Here we will observe this amazing bridge that has been hand woven by more than 1000 locals and is refurbished every year using only local straw also known as “Ichu”.
  • We return to the town of Cusipata to have lunch.
  • After lunch, we head back to Cusco. Arrival time will be aproximately 17:00.

Lima – Capital city of Peru.

Lima is located on the central coast of the country. The city is on the shores of the pacific ocean and has an estimated 8, 5 million inhabitants. On January the 18th 1535, the city was founded and was given the name of ”King´s city”. Nowadays, the city is the political, financial, and cultural center of the country. Lima is the third most populous city in Hispanic America and also ranks fifth in the most populous cities in South America.

Cusco – Capital city of the Inca Empire.

Cusco o “Qosqo” which in Quechua means ”Navel of the world”, is a city located in the southeast part of the country and also situated in the eastern part of the Andes mountain chain. Cusco is known as the ”Historic capital of the country”. This is because it was the capital of the Inca Empire. The city boasts several churches, palaces, and squares in baroque and neoclassical styles. All these attractions make Cusco the main touristic attraction in Peru. UNESCO has declared Cusco as a ”World Heritage Site” in 1983.
