GENERAL INFORMATION

The Ausangate Trekking is a magnificent tour of adventure for all those trekking lovers who enjoy a challenge. The trekking is done around the majestic snowcapped mountain (APU) Ausangate. The highest mountain of the Vilcanota mountain chain. The panoramic views and spectacular landscapes show its diversity; canyons, erosions, glaciers flora and fauna just to mention a few. We also get to know the customs and culture of the local people in the Peruvian Andes, crafts and textiles are the specialty of the area and also their unique dances.

LIVE THE EXPERIENCE

ITINERARY

Day 1

  • Pick up the passenger very early in the morning and we begin our trip.
  • We drive until we arrive to the location of “Tinqui”, here, we will set camp and have lunch and dinner.

2 Day

  • We get ready to start our second day of trekking once we have finished breakfast.
  • On this day we head towards the majestic snowcapped mountain of “Ausangate” which stands at an astonishing 6372 m.a.s.l. On our walk, we will pass by small Andean towns and will rejoice with the sight of Llamas, Alpacas and Pacos on their natural habitat.
  • We descend and head towards the village of “Upis” once we arrive here, we head to the Thermal Baths area. We will set up camp here (On the foothills of the mountain) and have our meals.

3 Day

  • We start the day with breakfast and after it, we prepare to begin our walk.
  • On this day, we will start heading to “Paso de Arapa” once we reach this point, we descend to the lakes of “Paucarcocha” which are known by the names of “Hatun Punacocha”, Vinacocha, and “Huchuy Punacocha”

  • Once we arrive to this area, we will set the camp for the day. We will have lunch and dinner here. In the afternoon, we can appreciate the different types of Andean birds

4 Day

  • We prepare for our fourth day of trekking once we have finished breakfast.
  • We begin our walk heading to the deglaciation areas of the Ausangate. We walk uphill until we reach “Paso de Alcantani” then we will continue towards “Ausangatecocha” Lake.
  • Next, we keep going uphill until “Paso Palomani” At this point we will have some magnificent panoramic views of the area.
  • Once we are done enjoying the panorama, we begin our descent. We keep going until we reach “Chilcapinaya”, we will set our camp here and have dinner in this village.

5 Day

  • We get ready for our trekking right after wwe finish breakfast.
  • We begin our trekking walking along the “Jampa Valley”, where we will meet the local shepherds dressed in their typical costumes herding their sheep, Llamas, and Alpacas.
  • We continue our walk, this time we go uphill until we arrive to the beautiful “Ticsacocha Lake” (4600 m.a.s.l)
  • We finally arrive to “Pachaspata” where we will set camp beside the shores of “Qomercancha Lake”. We will have dinner in this place.

6 Day

  • We start the day with breakfast and after finishing it, we begin our walk for the day.
  • We begin our trekking walking downhill to the village of “Pacchanta”.
  • We resume our walk and reach the Thermal Baths of the área. Here, we have an excellent panoramic view of the Snowcapped mountain of Ausangate.
  • We will set camp in this place and have our meals here as well.

7 Day

  • After breakfast, we prepare ourselves for the last day of the trekking.
  • We walk back to the town of Tinqui, once we arrive here, our touristic bus will be awaiting us. We drive back to the city of Cusco.

Lima – Capital city of Peru.

Lima is located on the central coast of the country. The city is on the shores of the pacific ocean and has an estimated 8, 5 million inhabitants. On January the 18th 1535, the city was founded and was given the name of ”King´s city”. Nowadays, the city is the political, financial, and cultural center of the country. Lima is the third most populous city in Hispanic America and also ranks fifth in the most populous cities in South America.

Cusco – Capital city of the Inca Empire.

Cusco o “Qosqo” which in Quechua means ”Navel of the world”, is a city located in the southeast part of the country and also situated in the eastern part of the Andes mountain chain. Cusco is known as the ”Historic capital of the country”. This is because it was the capital of the Inca Empire. The city boasts several churches, palaces, and squares in baroque and neoclassical styles. All these attractions make Cusco the main touristic attraction in Peru. UNESCO has declared Cusco as a ”World Heritage Site” in 1983.
